Henge

Henge is a three-metre-tall interactive light installation that brings ancient wooden and stone circles into the present day. A ring of illuminated poles forms a luminous gathering space, but what sets it apart is the hand-drawn imagery etched onto the light tubes — a visual archive of collected human wisdom passed down through generations.

These drawings spark quiet reflection on the purpose of knowledge exchange: why our ancestors built these mysterious monuments, and how we continue to gather, share ideas, and seek connection today. In the depths of winter, Henge mirrors the very role of light festivals — drawing people out of isolation to reconnect, converse, and feel part of something larger.
Motion sensors let visitors activate the work, triggering dynamic lighting sequences and subtle rhythmic sound that shift with movement. The piece adapts easily — it can form a full circle or be reconfigured to suit different sites and scales.
