SURGE is an immersive audio-visual, genre-breaking live show, very popular with family audiences. Created during lockdown, SURGE has been touring internationally to a variety of theatres, young people’s festivals, digital festivals and LIGHT NIGHTS.

SURGE has a proven ‘wow’ factor with both regular arts attenders and people who wouldn't usually attend a theatre or gallery. The show increasingly features as the ‘highlight’ event of a festival in audience evaluation reports.

It was made into a short film by the BBC, still showing on i-player:

There are two versions of SURGE: A ‘theatre’ set up - with audiences seated in an auditorium, and SURGE 360 where audiences stand/seated on all four sides of a central dance mat. (Festival set up) Either way audiences feel totally immersed in this light and sound experience with futuristic and prescient themes, building their own narrative and story, while engaging closely with the central character. They always leave the experience feeling like they have ‘never seen anything like it before’.

Running time 25 minutes, upto 3 performances in one day.

Themes are futuristic: A future human on the bridge between the digital and organic worlds pushed to their limits to ‘feel’ – to ‘sense’ – to ‘exist’. The audience become totally immersed inside a duet between dancer and animated light in a gripping kinaesthetic relationship.
