For 60 years, Harrogate International Festivals has brought extraordinary cultural experiences to North Yorkshire, transforming familiar spaces, connecting communities and attracting audiences from across the UK and beyond.
Our work in outdoor arts and light festivals has seen Harrogate’s streets, gardens and buildings become the canvas for ambitious artistic experiences. From spectacular Fire Gardens to large-scale illuminated installations to commissioned work with BEAM & 1571, we have brought internationally recognised artists and creative companies to the town, creating opportunities for thousands of people to experience art in unexpected places.
What’s next?
Building on this success, we are developing an ambitious new programme of outdoor cultural experiences through Harrogate Unlocked, supported by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The programme includes the return of BEAM as a larger town-centre light festival in 2027, alongside plans for a Fire Garden by internationally acclaimed French company Carabosse.
