About
Light Up Leicester is a city-wide festival which fills the streets with impressive, large-scale illuminated artworks. After the huge success of the first ever Light Up Leicester event in 2020, the city-wide illuminated festival of world-class art returned to Leicester in 2022 to see the city streets filled again with amazing installations. Each year the festival features some of the world’s most exciting and renowned artists.
These awe-inspiring illuminations form a trail of light-based installations, which are placed around the city centre for visitors to discover, be immersed in, and enjoy together. Light Up Leicester will return in 2024.
Light Up Leicester is delivered by Leicester City Council, Art Reach and BID Leicester. It has been made possible thanks to the support of Arts Council England.
