With support from Venture Arts.

Night Big Bang blends futuristic technological dreamscapes with digital light drawing, natural elements and bodies of water, tangling architecture and industry with the natural environment. It is built with layers of light, colour and photography in motion, bespoke to individual spaces as a series of immersive experiences embedded in local life.

Malik used the architectural and watery elements of the Quays, as well as the natural space at RHS Bridgewater to build disorientating and multi layered immersive spaces, drawing with digital light and colour.

Malik Jama is an artist based at Venture Arts Studios in Hulme, Manchester. He has exhibited this year at Tate Liverpool, Lightwaves and Glow Festivals, The Lowry and in Chemnitz, Germany for the 40th anniversary of the city twinning with Manchester.

This artwork was a co-commission between RHS Bridgewater and Quays Culture and will appear at both locations during RHS Glow and Lightwaves 2023.
