Since 2015, Lightwaves had welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors every year to experience light art by the waters of Salford Quays and MediaCity. Our commissions of UK and international artists are available for hire. Learn more and get in touch for details.
Following a decade’s success, we are now working with artists and partners to research and develop ideas that may build into the new Waves programme as a season of light, sound, water and darkness in 2027. Join our open meetings to find out more and get involved.
We are pleased to present Noctilucent by SHINE artist Nurul Wardani and a special live performance at BEYOND Festival, a fringe programme of the leading CreaTech event BEYOND Conference in MediaCity.
Noctilucent is an immersive installation that investigates how light can shape our perception of volume and spatial presence. Through the projection of light into haze-filled environments, the work creates ephemeral forms that appear to occupy and transform space.
More details of the installation and performance to be announced soon.
