Butterfly Cluster by Anne Bennett is an artwork created for this specific location on the Operations Tower, Salford Quays. Butterflies have many different meanings to many different people: new beginnings, rebirth, transformation (turning point), eternal life, departed souls, forthcoming better days, a lightness of being and good luck.
Anne’s aim is to enable people to better reflect on their own lives by gazing at the many surrounding butterflies she has hand-made. In the darkness of night, and under UV light, each butterfly shines brightly with a unique design. This creates an experience, both dream-like and meaningful, that Anne hopes everyone will enjoy.
